Private native forest communication materials

The Client

Private Forests Tasmania

Challenge

Tasmania’s private native forest estate is a world class resource that can be managed to deliver healthy productive forests, sequester and store carbon and contribute meaningfully to reducing Australia’s wood products supply/demand imbalance. Private Forests Tasmania engaged Greenwood Strategy to prepare a suite of communications materials aimed at informing private native forest owners about their available management options and introducing them to the key principles of native forest silviculture, planning, markets and supply chains.

Solution

The project has resulted in package of collateral which includes:

  • Five detailed case studies.
  • Two field days.
  • Seven fact sheets on important topics.
  • Four videos.
  • Web content and social media templates.
  • A practical operational guide for private native forest operations.
  • A detailed report, documenting costs and returns, practical ways of getting wood to market, end markets, risks and challenges, practical risk management strategies, post harvest site regeneration, fire/fuel management regimes and indicative carbon flows.

Outcomes

The final report identified a number of recommendations for consideration by Private Forests Tasmania, based on findings and observations made during the project, as well as other documented sources. Please contact Private Forests Tasmania for further details.
